Bio-fuel is one of the leading ways that many enthusiasts have used to create a greener vacation. Here are five tips for making your RV trip more green.

Stay Away from Disposable Items

Try to stay away from disposable items like paper plates, plastic knives and forks and other disposable one time use items. Yes, some of them may say environmentally friendly or biodegradable but the truth is the item still has to degrade in the environment. Is it greener to have an item that is sitting in the trash but marked as biodegradable or to have an item that is clean and can be used again and again? Try to choose leightweight reusable items and make things greener.

Un-Hook the Hook-Ups

RV camping trips mean hooking the RV to an electric outlet. Can you have an RV camping trip without doing this? Sure you can! Try to find an RV that does not need electrical hook-ups at night or find alternatives to what the electricity is for. Cook outside on an open fire, fish and cook the catch, was dishes at the camp site using their water and electricity. There are hundreds of ways to keep it green.

Take Home with You  

Instead of purchasing special items for the trip, that you may not use again, try using what you already have. Instead of purchasing a grill set use the outdoor fire pits offered at camp sites. Rather than buy special cookware or other items, bring some from home.

Find a Green Site

There are a lot of green camp sites that offer Eco-friendly options for RV camping vacations. Look around online, call around and make sure you are finding the campground that fits what you looking for. If you want to use what nature has to offer then look for a campground that has no electric hook-ups and is a bare bones site. In fact, bare bones site offer the best prices and most to do if you are into nature.

Plan the Trip

The best thing that you can do is plan your trip. Plan your route, your destination and your way back. A plan will mean you have something to look at and refer to if an emergency happens.
