Oftentimes an off-grid area means that the land itself is completely away from cellular towers or any kind of modern convenience. This means communication through the Internet, cell phones or other services may be slightly prohibited or completely unavailable. Satellite phones and other options should be considered for communication, Internet and telephone needs.
