The alkaline diets, also known as the alkaline acid diet, focus is online varying in fruits, vegetables, roots, nuts and legumes. This may seem like a standard diet plan that should be followed regardless of age or lifestyle. However, the alkaline diet has given way to fast food, other diets and different eating habits over the years. Recently, people in green living lifestyles have chosen to use the alkaline diets as a way to offer healthier and more balanced nutrition that fits green living. Here are four reasons that people would try alkaline diet and how the alkaline diet would help in each aspect.

Energy

There are several common complaints among the world’s population in regards to energy. You can turn on the TV or look online and at any time see an ad for a new energy drink or energy bar. This is because people have begun complaining about feeling a lack of energy toward the end of the day or a lack of energy throughout the day. Chronic fatigue syndrome and other energy related issues are also common occurrences. With the alkaline diet the combination of dieting plan and the consumption of certain foods can offer an increased energy and in some cases a decrease in complaints of chronic fatigue and energy-related illnesses.

Allergies

Allergies are another common complaint for many individuals. In fact, recent studies have shown that allergies in children including asthma related complications with allergies are increasing. Believers of alkaline diets state that different foods in the right combination can trigger the body to become more immune to allergies and reduce the chances of allergy related complications such as asthma and upper respiratory issues. Nasal congestion, frequent colds and flu and other related illnesses have also been shown to be reduced due to an alkaline diet and use of water ionization.

Anxiety

Anxiety, depression, headaches and depression related fatigue has become very common in today’s society. This is shown in the amount of prescription drugs used through out the year for depression and anxiety related issues. Prozac, Zoloft and other antidepressants and anxiety medications have flooded the market. For individuals looking for natural and non-chemical green forms of therapy the alkaline diets may have something to offer.

Various Health Issues

There are a variety of health issues that have been linked to the alkaline diet in regards to the diet decreasing health complications related to these issues. Health issues such as kidney stones, muscle failure and issues, joint issues and osteoporosis have been linked to reductions due to the alkaline diet plan. There have been some studies on the decrease of variance tests, breast cysts and breast cancer. Although these illnesses and their related patterns of reductions have been linked alkaline diets and water ionization tools such as the ones located here,  it has not yet been proven that the alkaline diet was the factor that reduced these healthcare issues.

    I have been on an alkaline diet for over three years and have reaped the benefits of living alkaline. I post recipes on my blog at cookalkaline.com that are alkaline in nature. I took some of our everyday foods and turned them into alkaline meals.
