The State University of New York at Buffalo, located in Buffalo, New York, is a part of the 64 campus University of New York system. It is the largest within the system and is a top rated public university. The university was founded in 1846, but merged with the State University of New York in the 1960s to take on the name the State University of New York at Buffalo. It is commonly referred to as the University at Buffalo, or SUNY Buffalo. The university currently has almost 30,000 students enrolled within the college. There are over 100 undergraduate degree and over 300 graduate programs offered at the university. The school has been rated as a top research university and is ranked within the nation. The current president of the State University of New York at Buffalo is Satish K. Tripathi, who serves as the 15th president of the University. As for their athletic programs, the University at Buffalo’s sports teams compete at the division I level within the Mid-American Conference. The school has a yearly budget of over $600 million in operating revenues and spends $386.6 million annually for the funding of research projects.
